By the time I realized what I was saying, I also realized I was being a hypocrite by arguing with you.

You are entitled to have and share your opinions, especially during what was supposed to be an open forum. I became defensive because more than once I've had people at {this company} tell me that I should give up on an idea/etc because he/she has more experience than me - at {this company}, at work, because of age.

While I agree that you do have more experience than me, I believe that we, {this company's} employees, can make change if change needs to happen. You unfortunately got the brunt of what's been a recurring conversation against change since I got here.

I do hope you take my apology sincerely.
